Jujustu Kaisen is a battle shonen that doesn’t stray from blood and gore. Dismemberment is surprisingly more common than you would think for a series aimed at adolescent boys. Not even main characters are safe from severed limbs and busted organs. For some reason Gege Akutami is fond of people losing arms. The reason I know that is because of how often it happens. These are just some of the many characters who lose arms in Jujustu Kaisen.

1. Geto, in an attempt to capture Rika, participates in a beam struggle with Yuta. Yuta overpowers Geto and costs the latter his right arm. If only he knew “reverse cursed technique.” Interestingly, Geto is the only official special grade sorcerer without knowledge of reverse cursed technique.

2. The cursed womb at the detention center lost both arms fighting Sukuna. Lucky for them, curses can grow back limbs with cursed energy.

3. During Hanami’s fight with Yuji and Todo, Gojo interjects with a hollow purple through the battlefield. She’s lucky she walked away with just an arm missing.

4. After turning over Riko Amanai’s corpse, Toji is confronted by freshly awakened Gojo Satoru. Gojo easily overpowers him and even hits him with his new move “hollow purple”. Toji loses a chunk of his midsection and his left arm!

5. Mahito squared off with Mechamaru after fulfilling their binding vow to each other. Using new shadow style, Mechamaru successfully blows off Mahito’s left arm.

6. Jogo and Hanami challenged Gojo to hand-to-hand combat in Shibuya. Gojo straddled Jogo’s right arm and ripped it off. Both Jogo and Hanami quickly learned why Gojo was the strongest.

7. Naobito Zenin lost an arm fighting fish in Dagon’s domain expansion.

8. Jogo touched Sukuna’s face for a little too long after feeding Yuji fingers. He pays for it with yet another arm.

9. Not long after, Jogo loses both arms at once while fighting Sukuna. Jogo may have lost the most arms in the series (4).

10. The final person on this list, but not the final person to lose an arm in the series, is Inumaki. He unfortunately was caught in Sukuna’s domain expansion and was lucky enough to only lose an arm.

As you can see, Gege Akutami loves taking arms away from people! This only covered about half the manga. I can think of 5 more characters right now who suffered the same fate, but I won’t spoil you!
