The 12th and final episode of Dandadan season one was released December 19th, 2024.

More people have joined the Ayase household: two anatomical lovebirds. There wasn’t a mention of next steps so do they plan to continue this arrangement forever? Granny’s going to start charging rent if bum-like aliens and spirits keep coming through here. This isn’t a shelter. Okarun, where are your parents? Aira, where is your dad? Everybody, please get out of her house!

I was scared that Taro (male anatomical model) died on his way over. I’m somewhat invested in their dynamic now, so I don’t want it to end sadly. Momo was out there with Hana (female anatomical model) waiting for him. So sweet.

Okarun is competing for Momo’s attention and finding himself liking Jiji the more time he spends with him. That’s a tricky situation. I don’t think I’ve ever liked a girl at the same time as my friend, knowingly. I’m not sure how to respectfully go about it either. In my opinion it’s pretty clear Momo prefers Okarun. She’s more focused on not getting in the way of their (okarun and jiji) budding friendship. She’s also oblivious to the fight over her. I wonder how she’d feel if she knew they were secretly competing.

When they first get to Jiji’s town, there are occult beings staring at them in the anime but in the manga, there aren’t any. I don’t know what that’s about. When they’re right in front of the house and Okarun notices them, the anime keeps that the same. Momo didn’t notice any aura from the house. it’s hard to believe they didn’t sense anything coming into town.

I feel bad for Momo. She just wanted to relax, but now she’s getting jumped by a group of aliens or spirits. I don’t even know what they are or how she’s going to escape this situation. Meanwhile the boys broke down the wall and it looked like a room with a bunch of wards in it.

I’m annoyed that they ended the season like that. Some of you may be wondering: when does Dandadan season 2 come out? Season 2 is supposed to come out in July 2025. This is an anime that would have benefitted from a 24-episode season. There were tons of hype for it in the states.

Many will read the manga from chapter 34. That’s where the anime leaves off. I anticipate anime viewers won’t have the patience to wait until next year. Once I catch up, I will be covering it weekly on my podcast. This story has grabbed my attention so far. I’m excited for what’s next
