Shueisha’s Dandadan, written by Yukinobu Tatsu, has had many characters come and very few go during its almost 4-year run on Shonen Jump+. These are five characters that have been absent, but I believe will return before the series ends.
Disclaimer: This article contains Dandadan spoilers!

Kito Naki
Last appearance: Dandadan chapter 50
Character summary: Naki Kito is the head of the Kito family, who were the main antagonists of the cursed house arc. She’s a subterranean who disguised herself as a human for 200 years to offer human sacrifices to the Tsuchinoko (the Great Snake).
Reason for returning: Naki vowed to get revenge on Momo Ayase. During the cursed house arc, Momo killed the Tsuchinoko, which Naki spent 200 years fattening up with human sacrifices. Her last words were, “You’ve made an enemy of us subterraneans.”

Taro
Last appearance: Dandadan chapter 51
Character summary: Taro is an anatomical model who is in love with Hana, another anatomical model. After being chased by Momo, Okarun, and Jiji, he agrees to let Hana stay at Seiko Ayase’s house so he can visit her after school. He temporarily helped seal the evil eye by covering Jiji’s body.
Reason for returning: He’s an honorary member of the Seiko family and abruptly stopped appearing after leaving Jiji’s body. Even Hana has appeared as recently as chapter 62.

Kashima Reiko
Last appearance: Dandadan chapter 120
Character summary: Reiko Kashima is the strongest spirit and possibly the strongest being in Dandadan. Momo and Bamora barely escaped after running into Reiko in a deserted area in Kamigoe. She single-handedly destroyed an entire fleet of space invaders during the space globalists arc.
Reason for returning: She hates Momo Ayase and said she would return to murder her if she ever got the urge. In the meantime, she’s out on a trip looking for the love of her life.

Banga
Last appearance: Dandadan chapter 120
Character summary: She’s the adoptive mother of Bamora and a member of the resistance against the Kur.
Reason for returning: She’s currently on course for Earth to find Bamora.

Turbo Granny
Last appearance: Dandadan chapter 165
Character summary: She’s the first spirit that Okarun and Momo encounter. After losing her powers to Okarun, she has tagged along on the Seiko family’s adventures ever since. After retrieving Okarun’s second ball, his and Turbo Granny’s deal was complete. Okarun returned her powers to her, and she walked out the door. Her last words were, “See ya.”
Reason for returning: She’s the series mascot and a pivotal character in the Seiko family who has been along for the entire ride.
