This article contains Shonen Jump’s Kagurabachi 75 spoilers.

Kagurabachi 75 kicks off with the first ever enchanted blade three-way deadlock. Unfortunately the potential clash devolves into Hiruhiko being targeted individually by Samura and swiftly decapitated along with Toto.

We learn another Tobimune ability: teleportation via swapping places with feathers. It’s eerily similar to Amenotejikara (Heavenly Hand Power) from Naruto. It’s a move Sasuke uses to instantly switch places with someone or something. It’s also similar to Todo’s Boogie Woogie from Jujustu Kaisen. Takeru Hokazano is a gigantic fan of Naruto and recently read Jujustu Kaisen so it’s not surprising if he found inspiration from them.

Samura realizes Iori’s seal is broken which serves as proof he was unaware this whole time. He coldly orders the Masumi to seal her memory again despite recently knocking them out and severing ties with them. Iori hilariously calls out Samura for being a bit of a deadbeat which throws him off because she is his only weakness.

Samura is so distracted by Iori that he doesn’t realize Hiruhiko activated Kumeyuri. Hiruhiko’s severed head starts speaking while his body and blade start to melt and dissipate. We learn one of Kumeyuri’s abilities are creating hallucinations which is very similar to Genjustu in Naruto. Two spirit geishas appear pouring sake into a cup to represent its activation. This ability perfectly fits Hiruhiko’s trickster personality. It ties to Uruha’s character as well and I’ll dive deeper on that later.

The mob of hotel residents rush Iori. Chihiro orders the shell shocked Samura to protect Iori whom is being disoriented by Kumeyuri the most and cannot protect herself.

Chihiro runs to find Hiruhiko in the hotel. Toto tells Hiruhiko that they should retreat while they have the opportunity. Hiruhiko makes the case that this will be the last chance to capture Iori. This conversation is noteworthy because Toto realizes that what Hiruhiko is saying is exactly what he wants her to think. With Kumeyuri, Hiruhiko can activate multimodal hallucinations. It’s not beneath the trickster to manipulate his own allies during a conversation. The more adept Hiruhiko becomes with Kumeyuri, the less trustworthy he’ll become.

Chihiro tracks down Hiruhiko and clashes blades with him. This is the second time Chihiro will be fighting an injured Hiruhiko and their third battle.

Meanwhile in Tokyo, Yura and Treeshaku take advantage of Samura’s distraction in Kyoto. Samura’s sky owl dissipates. Yura claims they are standing above Kamunabi headquarters and the Shinuichi on what appears to be a bustling city street. Treeshaku begins to tear up the ground and the chapter ends.

Now I’ll make my way back to the Uruha theory. Samura used a regular sword for their duel then switched to Tobimune to deliver the final blow.

Samura has an ability with Tobimune that allows him to kill people and bring them back to life afterwards. He used it on Chihiro to sever his enchanted blade contract with Enten so he had the option to be free from the burden of revenge. People theorize that Samura used the same ability on Uruha to bring him back to life. Kamunabi forensics still hasn’t confirmed his death which heightens the suspicions.

How This Relates To Kagurabachi 75

  • Uruha wielded Kumeyuri which is a blade of illusion and deception.
  • His preferred Kamunabi protected home was a hot spring. Hot springs are known for their healing properties. Sitting too long in a hot spring could induce dizziness and hallucinations.
  • He’s the only enchanted blade wielder to wear makeup.
  • When he’s introduced, he’s wearing a giant hat and robe that covers him head to toe.

The point of all this is that Uruha’s character is shrouded in mystery, deception, and disorientation. Everything about him from his appearance to his abilities is about deception. It wouldn’t surprise me if his death was faked. It’s all theory but it’s fun to think about.

We don’t know anything about his past. He’s one of the six original heroes and he died without a backstory. The Sword Saint is the only one to actually do anything wrong. It makes too much sense for Samura to spare Uruha’s life.

Like all theories, only time will tell. In the meantime I’d really appreciate if you donated to our cash app $weekendweebs. You help keep this website running. Peace out.
