Even The King Of Curses Can Look Lame
Ryomen Sukuna is undoubtedly one of the coolest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. From his ruthlessness to his many costume changes, Sukuna brings a certain flair to JJK that helped propel it to being one of the most popular manga/anime of all time. Despite his menacing aura that leaves everyone shaking in their boots (everyone except Satoru Gojo, of course), even Sukuna can be mogged. These are the King of Curses’ lowest moments in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Note: This article contains massive JJK manga spoilers.
5. Sukuna in Blob Form

After losing to his arch-nemesis, Yuji Itadori, Sukuna takes a not-so-menacing form that can really only be described as a blob. He kinda looks like B.O.B. from Monsters vs. Aliens. Yuji stands over him, picks him up, and even pities him. Shameful.
4. Maki Sneaks Up On Sukuna

It’s one thing to get snuck up on—it can and does happen to everyone—but the face Sukuna makes when Maki catches him slipping is just priceless. He looks flabbergasted. To add insult to injury, she doesn’t even attack. She’s just aura farming, completely mogging him. Hilarious.

3. Sukuna Gets Hit With Jacob’s Ladder

There are so many levels to this beating that I don’t even know where to start. Sukuna gets hit, and he looks like he’s crying uncle immediately. Definitely not the demeanor of someone you’d call a “walking calamity.” Sukuna looked so auraless here that Gege had to go back and redraw the scene for Volume 24. Then, instead of getting up and throwing hands, Sukuna pretends to be Megumi and sneak-attacks Hana. Pitiful.
2. Gojo KOs Sukuna

Eyes in a daze, bleeding from his mouth and chest, Sukuna looks beaten inside Gojo’s Unlimited Void. Not only must Sukuna rely on Mahoraga to save him here, but the only reason he even lives is because Gojo wants to spare Megumi. Sukuna was stunned. Instead of shooting Hollow Purple and obliterating Sukuna (and Mahoraga, if he’s summoned in time), Gojo closes the distance to incapacitate Sukuna. This caution for Megumi’s life gives Sukuna the chance to survive. The King of Curses is saved by a bum. Dreadful.
1. Sukuna Screams For Mahoraga’s Help

This panel single-handedly dropped Sukuna’s aura into the negative and completely reframed some people’s view of him. Sukuna is crying out for Daddy Mahoraga to save him. Mahoraga doesn’t actually save him, but his reliance on Mahoraga in this fight can be summed up by this panel alone. I truly believe this is the panel that makes people say Sukuna couldn’t have beaten Gojo without Ten Shadows—even though Gojo says that Sukuna wasn’t going all out against him. The aura lost from this panel is so drastic that people still say Gojo is stronger. Sad.
This goes to show that no matter how much aura you have, it is impossible to never lose it. Sukuna is a prime example of that.
