The Soga Party may be over

As Caustic from Apex Legends would say, “Breathe it in.” Turns out Ariu is more of a technical fighter than we thought. His sorcery, Sumika:

  • Buffs his movement & strength
  • Debuffs his opponents by dulling their senses with some kind of invisible airborne neurotoxin
  • Immunizes him to enemy sorcery
  • Makes him immortal

Judging by his quick recovery from getting his throat slashed, I’m assuming the planet-busting move hurling toward him will slow him down at best. Fights like these remind me that Kagurabachi is Shonen. Everyone is fighting and could die at any moment, but the Soga party really seems to be enjoying themselves. Especially Yoshinojo, who fits into the Battle Beast/Goku/Kenpachi/Sukuna type of character trope. He’s a total adrenaline junkie, and I can’t help but love him. His best line was “Show us all you got. This is the climax.”

Yoshinojo smiling before the climax

Sadly, these characters are most likely going to die

Yoshinojo and Mashiro both have large, gaping holes in their bodies. I know that Shiba is fast, but I don’t know if he can carry three people across the ocean that quickly. They could have all survived, but if so, then why are they absent from modern days? They could survive this battle then die in the war for all we know. We’ll have to wait and see.

The Shiba slander continues

I read that people are calling Shiba a glorified taxi and that he’s only the pinnacle of sorcery today because these guys died. Calling him a taxi is funny, but a stretch. Mind you, Shiba defeated a Mikaboshi soldier by himself just like everyone else present. He only had minor bruises compared to Mashiro, who barely survived. Let’s also not forget that Shiba defeated the Sazanami clan’s top soldiers single-handedly. Put some respect on the “pinnacle of sorcery.” He suffers from offscreen syndrome.

Shiba taking a breather

In all seriousness, this Soga party is very powerful and is showcasing some of the most high-level sorcery we’ve seen in the series. This feels like a One Piece situation where the people of the past were much more powerful than current fighters. I’m excited to see the other sorcerers that will be introduced. I’d like to see a young Azami and really just younger versions of the Kamunabi leaders in general. I’m predicting Flame Bone will make an appearance, but not from Hiyuki. Instead, we may see one of her ancestors join the fight. Fingers crossed that the Soga party lives on. I’d like to get to know them more in a casual setting before they are removed from the narrative.
