Jujutsu Kaisen, the best-selling manga of 2024, has officially been confirmed to be returning early 2026

The announcement was made late Monday night via Shonen Jump’s official X account.

After the defeat of Sukuna, everyone moves on as sorcerers to continue protecting Japan against curse users and curses. “The JJK sequel will pick up where the finale left off,” per Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen’s author.

During an interview with Viz Media, Gege revealed:

  • The story will take place in 2085.
  • Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi’s grandchildren will be the focal point.
  • The Six Eyes will make a reappearance.
  • There will be a new villain threatening the jujutsu world.
  • A new form of jujutsu sorcery has developed.

When asked if Part One’s main antagonist, Sukuna, would return, Akutami declined to comment but did say, “Anything is possible.”

Gege Akutami cited Boruto: Naruto Next Generations as the inspiration for the sequel. “Kawaki is so cool,” says the mangaka.

“I want to create something that will satisfy the current fans and the next generation of readers.”

Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2 will release sometime in early 2026, alongside the upcoming MAPPA-produced Culling Games arc.
